Democrats won the Attorney General, Secretary of State, and Governor positions in Michigan.

Now republicans in the state house and senate are trying to pass bills that would severely take away their power. This happened in North Carolina, and then it got ranked one of the shittiest states for democracy. Many groups are calling for people to head to Lansing this entire week, specifically on this Tuesday the 4th at 9:30 a.m.

Last-minute power-grab rule changes to override the will of voters after losing governorships is fast becoming the new normal for the GOP. And let it be a warning to the rest of the country - the GOP (and Kochs) use the state as a petri dish for terrible hard-right ideas. This effort clearly builds on the GOP power grab attempt in NC. If this works, it’ll spread everywhere.
